Closes 22nd June 2018 London Part time (voluntary worker)
Unpaid Contact Elizabeth Bergeron elizabeth@festival.org

Want to gain experience with an internationally-renowned puppetry company? Want to be part of a large-scale processional performance inspired by the centenary of the Representation of the People Act (some women gaining the right to vote in the UK)? Are you a London-based (or willing to travel) woman or non-binary person who wants to celebrate women from London and around the globe?

Greenwich + Docklands International Festival want YOU! We are looking for volunteers to take part in the world premiere of L’Homme Debout’s new processional, large-scale puppetry performance piece, taking place in Woolwich, London at the end of this month. This voluntary position is a genuinely amazing opportunity to get involved in a great project and learn new skills. Previous experience is not required, and we are looking for people to puppeteer, people to join our sound and lighting crew and for people join the procession holding placards of great Woolwich women. Due to the structure and size of the puppets, puppeteers will need decent physical dexterity. To have a look at the puppets in action, check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHJc12Df1Qg&feature=youtu.be

Volunteers will need to be available from mid-afternoon and all evening (the procession begins at 9.30pm) on the performance date of Saturday 23 June. In addition to this, there will be some rehearsals leading up to the performance.

For placard holders: A rehearsal is being held at 8pm on June 21st.

For sound and lighting crew: A rehearsal will be held on 3-6pm, June 22nd.

For puppeteers: Rehearsals will be held in Woolwich at 3-6pm on June 20th, 21st and 22nd.
